I am hoping you all had a wonderful holiday! Jason and I had a wonderful time, we spent time with family, played games and ate wonderful food. I still feel stuffed hahaha.

The dogs had a wonderful time too, we had bought some bones to send off to my sisters for their pups and well… they didn’t make it. Kyla decided to test out their presents for them ;)

Our little kitten is doing great, she is gaining weight! Yay! Jason and I are flying out to Illinois next tuesday to meet our new little Nephew that is arriving tomorrow, we should be able to pick our little kitten up when we return! It’s so exciting bringing new little souls into your life!

I have been updating the shop, adding things here and there. Here are some items that I have recently added..

Thank you all for your wonderful names. I have gotten quite a few from friends and family as well, so I am taking them all in and mulling them over. It is so much fun, the anticipation. She won’t be able to come home until sometime mid January, she is 12 weeks and still only a little over 2 lbs. She is being stubborn about weaning but is getting better everyday so I am keeping my fingers crossed that she packs on the weight!

We had quit the ordeal on Wednesday. We are in central Washington and has planned on making the trip over two mountain passes to Bellevue so Jason could have Lasik surgery on Thursday. Then we were going to visit family on the coast to give Jason’s eyes a few days to rest before driving back over the passes (I don’t drive in the snow, I wouldn’t make it very far lol) Well a trip that would take us normally about 2 hours start to finish, took us 6 hours to not even make it half way up the second pass. Chains required is the sign that greeted our frozen windshield where there was only a postcard size slash for Jason to see out of. Our windshield wipers had to be scraped about every 20 minutes because they had turned to huge blocks of ice. So we got out, went to put our new chains on… they didn’t fit. Two and  half hours later Jason came to the same conclusion, by now it is pitch black out. We had to slowly make it through a turn off that was so snowy we almost didn’t make it, we turned around and literally did 25 mph on the interstate all the way to Quincy bypassing the first mountain we went over and coming home the back way. We had left at noon and made it home at 11:30pm. It was one of the scariest and most exhausting ordeals I have ever been through. This picture doesn’t even show a quarter of it:

So the only thing that I know how to do when I get through a stressful situation is to eat lots of chocolate and go shopping, so yesterday that is just what we did! I went to one of my favorite little antique boutiques downtown and had a good “ole time!

It is called Collectors Gallery Antiques:

I just love this little house with the light in it!

So much eye candy, I could spend forever in there!

I walked away with quite a few goodies, I can’t wait to play with them!

Hope you are all having a wonderful end to the week, I know I am. I feel so bad about Jason missing his lasik surgery, he has waited so long for it. He says that he is ok with it and has rescheduled for March. I am just glad that we are warm and safe!

I hope all of you are warm and safe too!

I need help to name our newest addition to the family…..

bgirl1a-359x328

Just look at that face!

bgirl1b-377x243

We can’t pick her up until January when we return from our visit to Illinois, I am so excited.

She is a bengal, she will have spots just like the Bengal tiger. I am so excited.. can you tell? I have been playing with names in my head and I just can’t come up with anything. I have always done this with every single one of our animals. Name them before I meet them and they always fit their name perfectly. Loki is named after the Norris God of mischief and the first week we had her she ate my baseboards, shredded paper and torn my wallpaper off my wall. How is that for living up to your name lol.

I need some help with names… what are some of your favorites?

The boutique is now open! I am so excited. I realized that not only do I love sewing and making jewelry, I also really really enjoy making things for the home. So thats what I did. I decided to open a little online boutique of my own to share my creations. I didn’t think it would be open until after the new year, but it is! Woohoo. There are still some tweeks to work on, like the welcome page and the about but for the most part it is up.

Here are some items that I have been working on and will be in the Boutique

This past weekend was so much fun with my brother and his family. Thank you for all your well wishes, wishing me a good time. It was fabulous. He dressed up in a santa suite and played santa for my little niece Isabella. It was so great. I will be posting pictures soon I promise.

I hope you are all having a wonderful time preparing for the Holiday!

Day dream that is. So I thought it was only fitting to put the word “dream” on the banner I was making for my studio.

I have to make the bias tape to attach them all together and hang up.

I also finished a few other things yesterday:

You can’t really see it in the photo but she has glitter on her eyes, hair and lips.

Again the glitter didn’t show up, the butterfly wings are glittered.

This weekend we are having an early christmas with my brother and his family. I am so excited. It will be lots of fun and good food!

I suppose I should start wrapping presents ugh, I tried to do one last night and well I don’t like it. I am seriously considering dropping everything off at the mall gift wrap place. Do you think that is considered cheating? hahah

Have a great day!

I thought I would share a few of my favorite pictures/inspirations from my favorite book. Better Homes and Gardens, 300 cottage style decorating ideas. I just love this book. I have had it for years and it never gets dull! Every time I look through it I see something that I had missed the last 200 times I looked through hahah…

I thought you might enjoy these as much as I do…

I just love the iron bed frames and the rose prints

someday I am going to make me a little bench like this. take a bed frame and shorten the side boards. I just love this idea!

I love this idea too… a dresser on the wall. Isn’t it great!!

I have so many uses for that metal storage tree!! Now if only I could find one somewhere….

Oh look, they took a picture of my house for this picture… heheheh I wish!

Oh and there is my backyard…. In my dreams!

I just love this book, did I say that already?

I thought I would also share a few projects that are still in the works… I am liking how they are coming along so far, hopefully I will finish them up today..

I painted the pot and stem and then added moss for the top of this topiary. I want to add a few embellishments and it will be done.

These are some tags that I am working on…

and this is a candle holder that I made. It has old postcard prints all over it.

it looks really pretty with a tea candle in it. I still need to add a few things to it and then it will be done.

I have a new website that I will hopefully be sharing with all of you in a few short days, these items are for that site! I can’t wait to show you all!

Have a wonderful day… I hear that snow is on the way… I better stock up on hot cocoa!

Sweet Michelle over at chocolate and marmalade tea gave me this award yesterday!

She is so very sweet, I just love her blog. I look forward to seeing what she is up to and having her be a part of my everyday routine. It is amazing the people you meet in the blogging world, they are so genuine and truly touch my soul.

“This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY – nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.”

I get to now pass this award onto 8 wonderful people:

1: Pink Purl

Spending the last week on the couch has been torture. I thought I was feeling pretty good, I had been up doing housework and tidied up the studio. So I decided to go out to a movie that Jason had really been wanting to see. Oh, huge mistake. I spent the whole next day on the couch! My mom has had this cold going on 3 weeks now! This is driving me nuts.

Sunday I made a mess, I have had a lot of ideas while laying on my couch *ugh* I hate sitting still. My studio is a disaster now, I just went to town…. I had so much fun. I made my first decoupage on a glass lamp, made some altered art pictures, a framed topiary piece and a lampshade. I had a blast!

This is one of my favorites, a… hmm I don’t know what you would call it hahah

Have a wonderful day!
