I just love walking downtown and peering in the windows at all the eye candy. Every little boutique is vibrant with oranges, greens, reds and browns. Looking at the displays with my chai and rice milk lattle in hand I can’t help but smile. I just love this time of year it makes everything seem magikal.

A while back while window browsing I saw an adorable vintage clutch in an antique store. It was tattered and worn but oh so beautiful. I decided to make one from that little worn bag that gave me so much inspiration. The one I saw didn’t have a handle, I think I will add one to the top of mine. Here is my tribute to the little vintage purse in the window.

Jason and I are headed to the coast for the weekend. We will be visiting family as well as hiking up to the falls. I am so excited. The drive with be gorgeous, all the vibrant colors of fall and that nip in the crisp air. I will be sure and take lots of photos and post about our trip.

Now that the festival is over I got a chance to take a good look at the aftermath. Boy was it terrible and the worst part about it is that it was a small festival, it is only the 2nd year so there wasn’t a huge turn out. I just got accepted as a vendor at a 3 day festival for the day after Thanksgiving, I am scared to think of what my house will look like after that one hahaha. For starters I need more work space, so today I decided to  rearranged my studio. I have added a long table for me to lay things out on. While I was organizing things and putting things back where they went, (I swear there was fabric and thread in places I never knew existed in this house) I came across my bobbin tray. At this point I gave up hahahah. I really did, i took one look, hit the light switch and closed the door.

Can you believe this mess? What am I going to do?

This was my very first festival, to be honest I was really nervous! I really liked how my booth was set up, but the wind was so bad that things kept flying off the shelves and blowing everywhere. After a few dozen times of chasing after things and re-setting things up we finally had to go for function rather than display. I initially had all of the bags set up on the shelves and the table, but for the most part all of them ended up getting hung up on the tent.

My mom who is an amazing decorator made this twig arrangement for me to hang my jewelry from. I told her what my idea was and she went with it, I think it turned out wonderful. Right now she working on 42 arrangements for a friends wedding, I can’t wait to post pictures! They are sooo gorgeous!

I had a lot of fun at the Taste of the Harvest, I can’t wait to do it next year. I met so many wonderful people and I got a lot of positive feedback about my bags. Thank you so much for stopping by my booth!

I went out this morning and ran some errands. Ok, well not all of them were errands. I had some luxury stops in there too. OnE of our shops finally got the webkinz goldfish in stock so I had to bee line it there to get one for me and my mom. Yes I know, that makes it 110 total…. for each of us. We love them!

Anyway, when I got home there was that thing that I love to see.. a box next to my front door! A picture can better describe it than I can. I just can’t wait to dive in!

                                                            I love Amy Butler!

I am putting together several of these little coin purses for the upcoming festival. The few that I have finished seem to have found homes. One is in my mothers purse and the other in mine. They are just so cute, and so fun to make!

I love spending time in my studio, but it was nice to spend some time in the kitchen too. My grandmother is known for her baking. She makes the best cinnamon rolls, rhubarb cake and best of all her coffee cake. I remember as a little girl I would help her in the kitchen. She would pick out the big chunks of brown sugar and let me eat them right out of the bag! Yum! When I was unpacking I came across her recipe and thought what better way to break in my new kitchen. It turned out great, but I still think Grandmas  tasted the best. It tasted extra good, just because she made it. I called her just as I stuck it in the oven and told her what I was baking. She started laughing and said “just like when you were little.” Yep, just like when I was little, I even ate some brown sugar right out of the bag ;)

We had a wonderful time this weekend. Jason and I went over and spent the day at my brothers house in Marysville. It was a beautiful day, the sun was out and there was that crispness to the air. I love days like that, I know that fall is just around the corner. I spent a lot of time with my little niece Isabella, she really loves her uncle Jason :) . They played trains, it was so cute.

My brother had gone out early in the morning and set his crab pots, so we got to eat fresh crab from the Puget Sound. Oh, it was soooo good. He also grilled some Mahi Mahi, my Mom made some bbq pork, not to mention all the sides. Good food, good wine, beautiful scenery, and best of all family. It made my heart smile!

My brother with his crab, he was really proud. He caught 7 crab!!

My moms bbq pork, mmm, yes I licked my fingers hahaha.

                                                              Lots of really good food!

It was really nice to have us all together.

Isabella loved her crab! She even went out on the boat and helped her dad get them!
