I feel so honored. A dear friend of mine Tracy of Pink Purl, she is without a doubt the sweetest, and one of the most genuine person I have ever met, well she gave me an award!

Along with the award I am supposed to write 6 random facts about my day: Hmmm well I will try..

1.       We are in the middle of packing, we actually pick up the moving truck tomorrow, so my office is in the middle of the living room on a fold out table. Tomorrow I will probably be sitting on a cardboard box for my seat. Haha

2.       I am still in my pajamas, and its noon!! Hey, most everything is packed, what is a girl to do?

3.       I woke up this morning and went straight to crocheting. I created my very first crochet pattern and I actually dreamt about it last night, so this morning I woke up and went straight to work. It turned out very nice.

4.       My oldest yorkie Lily is getting anxiety knowing that we are leaving and she doesn’t want to be forgotten, so she tries to pack herself. Every time we walk away to grab more items when we come back there she is, we have to move her out of the way to finish the box, or bag or whatever we are packing at the time. When we go on vacation she is constantly having to be removed from the duffle bags.

5.       Hmmm let’s see, I love mornings, I try to get up early. Sometimes I sleep in and that’s ok but then I miss out on the early morning feeling. (Does that make any sense?)

6.       My husband and I have been sick the last two days, just over exhaustion working to get ready for the move. My husband always takes care of me when I am sick, I don’t know what I would do without him.

Well I guess that’s it. Thank you so much Tracy! You are so very very sweet. *hugs*

I am going to participate in my very first festival. I am soo excited. I have wanted to try doing a festival for some time, and I just happened to come across this one. It looks like it will be a lot of fun and there is hardly any traveling involved. We will be moving to East Wentachee, and the festival is just a mintue across the rive in Wenatchee. From the day that we arrive at our new home I will have about five weeks to get everything ready. I am going to try and take the first week to get things around the house organized and settled in so I will really only have four weeks to get ready! I am so excited!! If you are in the area, come down and say hi!

Today my wonderful husband Jason and I celebrate our five year wedding annivarsary. These are my five roses, one for each year. Three of them are white and two red, red and white roses together mean unity.

Aren’t they just beautiful! They smell so wonderful.

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful person, a genuine soul in my life. He truly is my soul mate, my best friend and I look forward to spending each and every minute with him!

Yesterday we met with our Real Estate agent, who is just the sweetest person. When we bought our house she was our agent and I knew that if we ever needed a realtor, she would be the person. I only wish I had more time to get to know her, she truly is a genuine soul. I am really going to miss her. Our home will officially be listed on the 4th of August, after we are well on our way to Washington. I am crossing my fingers for a swift buyer. In this market, who knows, but I will hope for the best.

We almost have the whole house packed. Jason and I have been working tirelessly for the past couple of days and it has paid off. All of the rooms upstairs are emptied and we finished all of the remodeling. Yay! So as a pat on the back we went to the bookstore… only after stopping for an iced black tea at Starbucks.

I am (not so) patiently waiting for the release of Breaking Dawn! I love Stehenie Meyers books and I cannot wait to read this one, however I am saddened that this is the last book in the series. It is bittersweet, I want to read it so badly, but I don’t want it to end.

Only 7 more days until it’s released!! And it is probably a good thing, or I wouldn’t get my house packed.

Sometimes I like books that are just fun mystery theme books. I just finished another one of the Tea shop mystery books by Laura Childs. They are so fun. I came across this book called The Trouble with Magic by Madelyn Alt. It looks very interesting and so far it is really good. The gal at the bookstore said she really liked it and is already midway through the second book.

Moving day is quickly approaching, I can’t believe it. It really hasn’t hit me yet. I am really looking forward to setting up my studio and getting back to work, oh how I miss the smell of thread and fabric in the morning hahaha.

Look what the mail lady brought me today!!!

Green Beans N Strings is amazing! I ordered 100 custom fabric tags from Lindsey, it was so much fun! They are just what I was looking for and shipping was fast. Lindsey is very sweet, she even wrote me a little note:

The tags turned out perfectly! I can’t wait to get my new studio set up and get to sewing! These little guys will look adorable!

Thanks again Lindsey!

The painting went quicker than I thought it would, althought it was only the windows, trims and baseboards. Today I have to paint the walls. Can’t you tell I am excited?

Yesterday afternoon I took a break from painting and went down to my local yarn store, or as I have now learned knitters refer to it as LYS. I bought two 10 1/2″ needles and two different color yarns. So last night I sat down with my new purchases and went to work. At first I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong, I was getting so frustrated. After about two hours of knitting (if thats what you call what I was doing) and then ripping it out I finally figured out thanks to youtube that I was casting on wrong. Once I figured that out, well I got on a roll, or a knit or a row hahaha. I finished the knit, purl excercise in the book. It is a lot smaller than it looks in the photo, only about 3-4″ wide and about 2-3″ tall.  Here is my first finished piece. You can see in the center there is a spot where I should have knitted where I purled and purled where I knited, but hey it what my first try! Now I am working on a cap, I like working the knit stitched better than the purl, and this new pattern is knit 2, purl 2, so it may take me a little while. It will sure keep me busy on our drive, whew 9 days! Yikes.

I heart knitting.

When Jason and I made our drive from Illinois to Washington in May I crocheted the whole way. I made several sets of fingerless gloves and two hats. It really made the time pass. I have always crocheted, never knitted. The thing is, every pattern I fall in love with is a knitting pattern!

We have 12 days until we leave to make our last trek from Illinois to washington in our 26ft Penske truck. I have been pouring over crochet patterns and while I have found some very nice ones that I am working through right now, they really are few and far between. So *gulp* I am taking the plunge. I went out and bought the book Stitch ‘N Bitch. I have yet to look through it, it all is a little intimidating. Right now I am patching and painting getting the house ready to go on the market. Tonight I am going to sit down with a glass of iced tea and take a peak at knitting… wish me luck!

I am crossing my fingers that I get the hang of it!

I have always been curious about pmc clay. How to use it, the whole process of molding something out a tiny ball of clay ending up with a beautiful piece of fine silver. Well today I got all of my questions answered. I had the opportunity to have a one on one class with a wonderful gal name Debbie. She makes beautiful glass beads (another one of my curiosities) and she was kind enough to give me a lesson. She mentioned a class that she had signed up for on pmc and I couldn’t wait to sign up too. So today was the day woohoo. I know just what I am asking for for christmas, a kiln! I love working with pmc. Each of us got to make a few pieces and bring them home. I made a set of earrings and a pendant. I just love them!

The earrings have one big spiral on the front.

And tiny little spirals on the back.

Tree Pendant. I made a hole at the bottom to hang a bead off of.

On the back of the pendant are leaves. I thought they would go nicely with the tree.

The garage went great this morning, better than yesterday. So while Jason was out working the garage, I went to work sewing. It is so nice to be able to take a few days a do something normal. Packing is really exhausting. Every time I do it I say it’s the last time and its not. Maybe if I don’t say it this time, it really will be the last time… heres to wishful thinking :)

I finished another one of the mail bags. This one is going up for sale in the shop. I just love how it turned out. I am addicted to this pattern.

Well here it is my new blog home. I wanted all of my things to have the same theme, so after racking my brain trying to think of a crafty name it hit me. Why not just use my own. So I did just that. Why I decide to do these things while my world is in moving mania, I have no clue. But here I am moving things around. Actually yesterday was a nice break from packing boxes and organizing. We had a garage sale yesterday, and I got some much needed sewing time.

I have packed all of my studio except the ironing board and my sewing machine, so of course I would get an itch to use the Amy Butler fabric I got for christmas. And of course it had to be in the bottom box of the last stack I happened to go through.  I know I know, I am nuts. But I just fell in love with this pattern and had to try it out. I got it from Pink Chaulk Studio and I just love it. I think the bag turned out great. It was worth digging through those boxes. Today is another garage sale day and while my wonderful husband is tending to it, I am hoping I can get another one of these made for the shop!
